ASUS VivoTab 8 Windows Tablet Preparing for October Release
ASUS is prepping to launch its most affordable Windows tablet ever, the VivoTab 8 model, that’s coming in October. The price tag is $199 and the device doesn’t look bad at all, as shown below.
This 8 inch Windows slate is basically the same with the VivoTab Note 8, that launched earlier this year. However, it lacks the active digitizer, stylus and its hefty $330 price. The newcomer was shown at IFA 2014 in Berlin earlier this month and now it’s ready for store time. After paying $199 for it, you get an 8 inch 1280 x 800 pixel display with wide view angles, an Intel Atom Z3745 Bay Trail quad core processor, 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage.
There’s a 15.2 Wh battery on board, offering up to 8 hours of functioning time, as well as GPS and WiFi 802.11n. We’ve got 2 megapixel cameras at the back and front and a microSD card slot included, too. It supports up to 64 GB in removable storage. The product seems solid and it’s taken for a hands on spin below:
In just a couple of short weeks we will have the best holder for the latest and greatest tablet you own. The Fit8 will be the perfect fit for this tablet along with every other 8" tablet out there. Stay tuned. If you want an email when it's out email me and I will add you to the list for notification when it's ready for shipment.
